OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS — Lockpath, a leader in innovative governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) solutions today announced the Lockpath 2014 GRC Workshop Series, a collection of complementary on-site and online events moderated by thought leaders, industry veterans and subject matter experts. The interactive events will address common topics and challenges compliance and security professionals face, including measuring GRC program maturity, building business cases for technology and facilitating a responsible implementation of that technology.
“As an implementation specialist, I’ve seen many organizations blindly follow ‘best practices’ advice without assessing the maturity of their governance program,” said John Guzman, Engagement Manager at Lockpath. “This often results in unnecessary complexity and inefficient processes. Our GRC Workshop Series is designed to help participants define clear goals for their governance program so they can identify the processes they need to concentrate on and avoid unnecessary pitfalls created by someone else’s best practices or methodologies.”
The inaugural event in this series will be held on June 18–19, 2014, at Lockpath Headquarters in Overland Park, Kan. The two-day workshop allows attendees to learn, share, engage and network with peers while discussing some of today’s hottest risk, compliance and audit topics.
Day one, titled “Using Technology to Avoid the Burden of Complexity,” will feature guest moderator Michael Rasmussen, Chief GRC Pundit at GRC 20/20 Research LLC. Rasmussen, one of the foremost authorities in governance, risk management and compliance, will update attendees on the current GRC market, explore common GRC use cases and discuss how to build a GRC technology use case for executive sponsorship.
Day two, titled “Evaluating Program Maturity and Implementing New Technology,” features an agenda of proven methods and techniques on how selecting the right solutions and responsible technology implementations can create effective and self-sufficient GRC and InfoSec programs. Day two also includes a breakout session for healthcare professionals to discuss and collaborate on current regulatory compliance, risk management and audit challenges facing their industry.
Seats for the GRC Workshop series are limited. Visit go.lockpath.com/grcworkshop for more information and to reserve your seat today.
